Lord to hear my prayers

"Even in fasting, we have the choice."

Something seems disingenuous to "fast for solidarity" with the poor or against human trafficking -- we can never know their experience and no day or hour or meal without food will have the ability to teach us that.

Today is my first fast in solidarity to the poor and on the walk to the train, I realized just how silly this felt. Not the act of fasting or the idea of lifting up the poor; but the idea that somehow I am can choose to be in solidarity with the poor by simply overlooking the food in my fridge, in my cubicle, in the grocery story next door, or in my friend's hands. Nothing I do or do not eat or do can every place me in their position, I will never know their experience because I have the ability to choose.

Pray with me today for those who have no choice.

Week 6: Humility

Titus 2:7 & 3:2 "...In your teaching [work] show integrity, seriousness, and soundness
of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you [or God] may
be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about you...Remind the
people to be subject to rules and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do
whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate,
and show humility to all men."

I saw the best thing in the world today - a God siting if you will (oh and i will :))

Two brothers sliding down the escalator railing and riding it back up.

Now give you, many adults were scowling and the boys were aware, but instead of giving up their fun, they waited and rode until they passed and then start in on their fun again.

Now I tell you it was a God siting because today I had to go down to go back up, except my down wasn't near as much fun and a whole lot faster. Let me start at the beginning...

Week 5: Confessions of a Worry-and-Complain-a-holic

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.                                                                                                                      "After the Storm" - Mumford and Sons

Here I go again...
                   ...worry, worry, worry....
                                             ...complain, complain, complain...
...NOT sleep, NOT sleep, NOT sleep...

For all your perfectionists out there, I feel as if you may be able to share my pain. This week was both a week of emotion recovery and frustration as well as physical exhaustion and break down.

21-Day Prayer Challenge Wrap Up

Know what I mean when I say in most prayers you never truly realize what you're really praying for...

...like praying for patience...really want the situations that build that quality in you??
...like praying to be better with change...because that's basically saying come "screw up" my neat life.
...like praying for directions and God-sized dreams....

Week 4 - Little Inspirations

This week was a busy busy week of dreams, work, and friendship. It ended with about 22 hrs in the presence of God with about 300 other leaders at National Community Church. Together, we listened to challenging words and we responded with prayers and worship. There was moments of pure fellowship, of pure brokenness, of pure inspiration, and of pure joy. Needless to say, it was an exhilarating exciting adrenaline God-filled moments - and ended with pure contented exhaustion. I left feeling like my mind and body could not handle an other minute of the pretense of God.

I hope these pictures, words, and music inspire you as they have me because right now they speak more than any words I
know.

Week 3 - DaNce

Life's a dance you learn as you go,
sometimes you lead & sometimes you follow - Don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go

There is a lot said about dancing and quotes declaring meaning...

- poetry in motion
                - Dance like no one's watching
                                  - release of the soul's true self
                                                      - movements of the devil
                                                                             - worship in action
... the list could goes on and one.

It's my personal opinion that ANYONE can dance! Yes, you heard me right - ANYONE can dance!
